So Much has happened

On June 17th 2011, my brother and his partner welcomed Ella Grace into the world, she is my first niece and my parents first grandchild.

We all think she is gorgeous and we love her to pieces :-)

I've also given up the smokes, coming up to 10 weeks since I had a smoke and I'm very proud of myself :-)

I've also signed up and have started doing Soul Restoration 1 through Brave Girls Club, so far it has made me think and listen and I'm enjoying it.

I found a great site that offers great stamps and also offers other products as well, check them out here, they also have a friendly forum which you can check out here.

They have a Design Team call at the moment and you had to make something using stamps and you have to use blue on your project, here is what I came up with

I used The Greeting Farms Stamp - Birthday Anya, coloured her with my copics, also used my copics to colour the large blue flowers.

What's been happening

I've been busy lately helping my mum, she had her knee re-done on 1st Feb and can't do alot at the moment, so I'm having to do it all for her, like cleaning cooking (usually take it in turns) and other housework stuff.
My brother and his fiancee leave for New Zealand next weekend, they are going over to look at venues for their wedding which will be in June 2012, they have asked DH to be groomsman and me to be bridesmaid, they are also expecting their first child in June 2011 and asked DH and I to be godparents, which we are thrilled about. She is 6 months pregnant now, I'm thinking she will go before her due date of 12th June. Here are some scans done at 20 weeks

We are all excited as this will be my parents first grandchild, I always thought I would be the first to be having a baby but its not meant to be.
I've been working on some sample invitations for their wedding as they have asked me to make them for them, I've had fun doing them and will share a pic when I can.
I managed to get 2 challenges done over at Ch{all}enge Masters, one I've uploaded the other I need to get off my camera, here is the one that I've uploaded

Not a good start to the New Year

We had a great Christmas day with family and our neighbours who came over for lunch, Boxing day was good as well just stayed at home and chilled.

On Thursday 30th December Dad, Mum and I went up to Sydney to spend the day with my Grandpop and also to visit my Aunty, we arrived at my pop's place around 11am, we noticed that the newpapers were still out the front, which we thought very strange, we knocked on the door but no answer, dad rang the home number and no answer, so we thought that he had forgot we were coming and went to the shops, so we decided that we would go out to the cemetery were my nana is buried, after leaving the cemetery we went and had some lunch, after lunch we then called around to pop's place again, still no sign of him, we were starting to get worried but we also know what he is like, so we ended up going up and seeing my Aunty who is in a nursing home just up the road from pop's place, dad tried calling a few times while we were there but no answer, he was starting to get really worried so we decided we would go and check things out. Pop's place was still all locked up and no sign of him, so dad decided it was time to call the police, the police came out, checked the front and then climbed over the fence into the backyard, when they came back around they said that the light and tv were still on, that's when we knew something wasn't right as he never leaves the tv on. The police decided to break in through the bedroom window, when they came out they told us that he was deceased and that we couldn't go in as yet as the detectives had to come and decide if it was a crime scene or not, waiting was the hardest part, I was worried about Dad as he had a heart attack a few years ago so I kept my eye on him, after awhile the detectives came and said that it wasn't a crime scene, so the police did a few more things and then eventually said they needed someone to go in and identify pop, well dad was determined he was going in, so mum went in as well, I decided that I needed to go in to be there for my parents, my pop was laying on the floor between the kitchen and hallway, mums legs gave way and dad was a mess. The police said that pop had either a stroke or a heart attack and that it had happened quick as there was no sign of him trying to get up. We then had to wait around for the coroner to come and pick up pop, after they left we went in and just got his valuables as we didn't want anyone breaking in and taking them, in the mean time my brother, his fiancee and my husband were on their way up from Canberra, when they arrived we were ready to leave and get something to eat, even though none of us really felt like eating, my brother ended up calling his best friend and we all stayed at his place for the night, none of us slept much, I know it took me ages to fall asleep as every time I closed my eyes all I would see was pop laying on the floor. Friday was a bit of a blur and in the afternoon we left to come back to Canberra. On Saturday morning I got a call from my Mother in law to say that my husbands pop on his father side had passed away on Friday, we were kind of expecting this call as he had been diagnosed with a brain tumour. Dh's pops funeral was going to be the following Thursday and my pop's funeral was going to be on the Monday after that, so we had 2 funerals to go to in a matter of days.

I wish we could start the year over again but I know we can't and we just have to get on with our lives as best we can. I'm starting to feel like things are starting to get back to normal, DH and I ended up going up to his mum's place at Forster for a week just to have a break from everything.

My mum goes back into hospital on the 1st Feb to have her knee redone as it hasn't gone they way it should of and she has been in a lot of pain, she will be in for up to 10 days and once she comes out will need some help doing things, so I will be doing a lot of the housework,cooking and stuff she can't do.

I'm hoping that the rest of the year will only get better

Been Slack

I've been slack lately with blogging, sometimes I wonder whether I should keep the blog or not.

I have done some layouts, both for the LSBS cybercrop last weekend

I've also been making some Christmas cards, still making some for family

I can't believe how fast this year has gone, have done all our xmas shopping for family down here, we will get the rest when we go up to Forster in the new year. Looking forward to a few weeks break, sitting outside looking over the water.

Well that's it for now, not much else to share at the moment

DH's computer packed it in so we brought him a new one with money he had been saving up, it was his early Christmas present, so he also got me an early Christmas present, a new camera, here is a pic of it

I'm still learning how some things work but having fun playing

My neighbour took some xmas cards I'd made to work to sell, she has sold 5-6 and a lady put an order in for 12, I'm working on them now.

Not much has been happening, just getting ready for Christmas, only have a few more presents to buy

Ups and Downs

The last few weeks I've had a lot of ups and downs, my mind has been playing tricks on me big time and its cause I've been wanting something so much that it makes me have these symptoms even though I shouldn't be having them at all. It has made me realise just how powerful our minds can be. It has caused me to be down a lot and I have to really motivate myself to do anything. I'm really hoping the next few days I can pick myself up and get back to where I was before.

In other news, I paid my deposit to go to the LSBS retreat next year, will be the first retreat I've been to and I'm really excited about going, will be so good to be able to scrap with others as well as meet the wonderful ladies from LSBS.

I haven't done alot of scrapping lately, just haven't been able to get int the mood, I'm hoping to do some over the weekend as I have something in mind that I want to work on.

Well that's all for now, hopefully I'll be back soon with some layouts to share :-)

A lot happening

A lot has happened since the last time I blogged.

DH's car was written off as there was too much damage done to fix it, so insurance paid us out and we then started looking for another car, after a few days of looking, DH said to me to go and have a look around and if there is something I like then to get it. Well I went out one morning, taking my brother with me and I found a car that I really liked, took it for a test drive and it ran really well, has been kept in good condition and no marks on the inside or outside, got back to the car yard and decided it was the car I wanted so put a deposit down on it, I got a call the next day around 2pm saying it was ready to pick up. I'll be the main one driving it as DH doesn't know how to drive a manual, I looked for an auto but there was either none or they were out of our price range, we got a Hyundai Sonata, here is a photo of it

That same week, my brother and his girlfriend came around on the Thursday night with some news, she is pregnant and expecting their first baby, then on Saturday night they tell us that they are now engaged, so it was a week of exciting news. I went with them last Thursday for the dating scan, they are due 12th June 2011. Looking forward to being an Aunty :-)

My mum went into day surgery last week so that the specialist could put a camera in and see what is going on with her knee, well there was a lot of scar tissue which he removed, so crossing our fingers that that has done the job and her knee will be a lot better and she will be able to walk better on it.

Not much else happening here, I might have some news in the next few days/week but till then I'll catch up with you all next time :-)

LSBS Cybercrop - Starts tonight

Been Busy

This week has been pretty busy, have had a few things going on as well as being creative

Last Saturday night/Sunday Morning, my DH rang at 1:10am to say that his car had been broken into and that he couldn't drive it as they had cut all the wires under the steering wheel, they also took his boot lid. They were wanting to steal it but the immobiliser stopped them from doing that. So my dad and I drove over to where he was and called the tow truck, while waiting for the tow truck we thought we would clean his car out, while cleaning it out we came across a mobile phone, wasn't one of ours or an old one of DH's so we rang the poilce back and told them and they sent a patrol out. The tow truck had turned up but the police hadn't showed up yet so we had to wait around till the police got there to get the phone. Eventually the police came and took the phone and left, tow truck driver then put the car up on the truck and left and so did we, we didn't get home till 4:30am, I was buggered and so tired, Sunday was a wipe out for me as I ended up with a really bad migraine and was in bed all day. Monday morning I spent on the phone putting in a claim with our insurance company, they have been really good and helpful, so now just a matter of waiting to see how long it will take to fix his car, so DH has my car now.

I've also been busy making 14 star albums for my neighbour, her daughter does calisthenics (sp?) and asked me if I could do some for the girls in her DD's team as well as the coaches, I finished them yesterday, they just need the photos added, here are some pics

A few things have happened since the last time I blogged, DH did his test and we got the results, all is good, we just have to keep trying, so maybe one day we will have a baby.

I've also been trying to give up the smokes but not having much luck at the moment, don't think my head is in the right place at the moment to give them up, I will keep trying and I have cut down on the amount I smoke.

I have been helping my neighbour make 11 star albums, we finished them last night, we just have to decorate the front and add the photos once she has them, its been fun being able to scrap with someone else.

I came across a great new forum called Sisterhood of Scrap everyone is really friendly and they have some great challenges, I'm also liking LSBS and Scrap Therapy, they both have great people and great challenges.

I haven't done a lot of scrapping lately but I will share a layout I did the other day

What I'm loving at the moment

A Fresh Start

I thought I would start a fresh with a new blog and hopefully update it more then I have done in the past :-)

For the last few months we haven't had the internet, it went off sometime in June and didn't come back on till around the beginning of August. In those months we didn't have the net I mainly read my books as well as doing some crocheting. It also gave me time to reflect on things and work out what I want to do and where I want to go. I missed being able to chat to all my friends I've made in the scrapping world as well as play my games on facebook. I've noticed though that since the net has been back on, I'm not spending as much time on it as I was before, don't know if that is a good or bad thing lol

The other month DH decided that he would do his test to see if there was a problem with him as to why I haven't fallen pregnant yet, he did it today and he has an appointment with the doctor next Monday to get the results, hopefully one day soon I'll be sharing some good news with you all :-)

I haven't done a lot of scrapping lately, my mojo seems to have gone on holiday, hoping it comes back soon as I have all this new stuff to use. I'm hoping that now that I'm back online and have access to different sites for challenges that it will bring my mojo back.

I'll leave it here for now and will come back and share a layout or 2 with you all :-)

What's Been Happening

A lot has been happening since I last posted. I did end up getting the job with Coles supermarket but ended up having to resign as I had a breakdown. For those that don't know I've been dealing with depression for 6 years. A few months ago I thought I was doing well so went off my meds, well I didn't realise just how bad I was till I had the breakdown and totally lost it. I am back on the meds now and have an appointment with my doctor next week and going to talk to him about seeing a psychologist as I think it will help me to be able to talk to someone about the way I've been feeling. It will take a little while for the meds to kick in again so I'm still feeling a bit low and vulnerable at the moment.

Bad Blogger

I know I've been a bad blogger lately :-( been busy with other things that I've neglected my blog

On the 5th April, DH and I celebrated our 7th Wedding Anniversary, we didn't do anything that day as DH had to work so we waited till the Wednesday and went out and then had a family dinner at home as it was my birthday on the Wednesday as well. I'm now 35 and feel old lol

A few weeks ago I had a group interview with Coles and then last week I had a one on one interview with the manager at Curtin store, now just waiting to hear whether I get offered a position or not

I have done some scrapping in the last few weeks, my neighbour has been giving me photos of her girls to scrap and I've been having fun doing them as I don't have any kid photos to scrap

Been awhile since I have updated on what's going on so thought it time to update :-)

I went for an interview last Tuesday for a telemarketer position with a real estate, I not long got home and the lady rang me to see if I could go in on the Wednesday afternoon for an hour's trial to see whether I liked it or not and also if they were happy with me. On Thursday while out I got a phone call to say I got the job and I start on Monday 1st March, I'm so happy and excited. I will be working Monday to Thursday 4pm -7pm, it will helps us out with some extra money and I still get time for other things.

My brother also got himself a job, he is now working for Coles Supermarket in the freezer/diary section, its full time and he is looking forward to it.

My mum is still have some probs with her knee, she went back to the specialist last Wednesday and had to have an ultrasound done yesterday, hoping that the ultrasound will let them know what's going on with it and why its not doing what it should do.

Finally an Update

Well its been awhile since I blogged, so thought I better update it :-)

DH and I went away for 3 weeks to Forster, we stayed at his mum's place as she went away on a cruise, so we house sat for them. We had a nice relaxing time, was good to get away and spend some time together. For the first 2 weeks it rained but we didn't let that stops us from going for drives and going out. We didn't go out every day, on the days we didn't go out, I sat out the back overlooking the water and reading, read a fair few books while away. Last Tuesday we went out in the MIL's boat with DH's sister and husband, was a good afternoon out even though we didn't catch any fish. Here are some photos of our time away.

We got home on Friday night around 10pm, was good to be able to sleep in our own bed :-)

On other news, I am now Design Team Leader for JADS -Jean's Art Dolls, JADS is a great place and everyone is very friendly, we are also looking for new people to join the Design Team
